I used to play Call of Duty (the first one ever) multiplayer professionally in my teens with an Italian team (A+R or Agony Realm) that was number 1 in the Italian cup and top 10 in the EU cup.

What professionally really means? Well, the team was sponsored by 2-3 big names and so we were encouraged to attend tournaments and championship. Plus we were getting free gear form these sponsors and we were getting prizes at the events that we were winning (LAN parties/tournaments were a thing back in the days!).

When Call of Duty 2 has been released, introducing different game dynamics, due to random reasons the Call of Duty “division” of the team decided to stop and I went back playing for fun with my friend.

Online FPS (First Person Shooters) games have been one of my main interest and I played a bunch of them. Some are Quake 3 Arena, Quake Live, Vietcong and some others. But this is a topic for another day!
